In preparing for a trip we are taking soon I decide to check the air pressure in the RV. Then I figured it was a good time to check all the tires on all the vehicles. Happily enough on all of them there was a little tag on the drivers door telling you what the air pressure is suppose to be. When it was time for the Mitsubishi SUV I found a very fancy label giving a number of choices depending on what you were planning to use the vehicle for. Things like carry less than 5 people, pull a trailer, have a full load and then there was this very interesting one…………………..there was a different suggested air pressure if you planned to carry 5 passengers AND exceed 100 mph!
I asked my wife what she thought. She said as little as we do that, we could probably get away with the standard air pressure. I tried to remember the last time I had 5 people in any car and drove 100 mph. I have done it, but I don’t think I have ever done it with 5 people so I decided she was right. That being the case I filled the tires to 29 PSI instead of 30 PSI.
I will just have to keep a close eye on the speedometer next time I have a crowd in the car.
